Mishustin: Eco-Tourism Gaining Popularity Across Russia

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin says eco-tourism is becoming more popular and accessible in Russia. Speaking at a meeting, he noted that transport accessibility is closely tied to the growth of this travel sector, as many Russians want to spend their free time actively and explore the country’s unique natural areas.

Mishustin reported that more than 22.5 million people visited Russia’s unique natural territories last year — a quarter more than the year before. He added that nearly every Russian region has strong potential for eco-tourism.

At the same time, he stressed the need for a careful approach: increasing visitor numbers must not upset the ecological balance of protected areas.
