Mid-Flight Emergency: Passengers Pray as Pilot Suffers Seizure

A harrowing incident unfolded on a PAL Airlines flight from the US to Canada when the pilot had a seizure, prompting passengers to pray for their safety. The incident occurred on June 24 after the plane took off from Newark Airport in New Jersey with 61 passengers on board, bound for Halifax. As the flight progressed, the aircraft suddenly changed course, and a passenger described the plane as 'shaking violently, like someone was jerking the wheel back and forth.' Rodney MacDonald, a father of two, witnessed the chaos and saw flight attendants rush the pilot out of the cockpit. He quickly came to their aid, helping to restrain the pilot, who was clearly unable to control his actions. The situation was intense, with MacDonald and others holding the pilot down for about 40 minutes using as many seatbelts as possible. Fortunately, the co-pilot took control of the plane and made an emergency landing in Boston. Paramedics rushed to the scene, and the plane was towed to the terminal. After a delay, the flight resumed, and passengers finally arrived at their destination around 9:30 pm local time. The pilot's condition was not immediately available, but the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of pilot health and safety protocols in the aviation industry.
