Miami’s Bayfront Park Beats as the Heart of the 2026 World Cup

Boca Raton TribuneSunday, June 14, 2026

MIAMI — The 2026 FIFA World Cup has kicked off, and downtown Miami has transformed into a 23-day celebration of soccer. The official FIFA Fan Festival at Bayfront Park opened Saturday, June 13, offering a free, waterfront gathering spot for fans from around the globe. The festival runs daily through July 5.

City officials expect more than 600,000 visitors over the three weeks, with an average of 30,000 people per day flooding the park at 301 N. Biscayne Blvd. The site offers a stunning view of Biscayne Bay with the Miami skyline as a backdrop for live matches on giant screens.

Admission is free and open to all ages. The festival opens about an hour before the first match of the day. Last entry is 30 minutes after the final match starts, and the site closes 90 minutes after the last game ends. Security is tight: a clear bag policy limits bags to 12 by 6 by 12 inches. The U.S. Coast Guard has also set up a temporary maritime security zone near the Miami River’s south entrance through July 6, requiring boats to maintain a steady speed and avoid anchoring.

Inside, the festival is organized into zones. There are live viewing areas with high-definition screens, entertainment stages with local and international musicians, and food vendors serving Latin American, Caribbean, and international street food. Interactive soccer zones offer mini-pitches and sponsor challenges for fans of all ages.

With limited parking and heavy traffic downtown, organizers urge fans to take public transit. The Metromover stops right at the park’s entrance; Metrorail and Brightline are within a mile. The main tournament matches are at Hard Rock Stadium—renamed Miami Stadium for the event—in Miami Gardens, which hosts seven games. For ticketless fans, this festival is the central place to soak up the World Cup energy in South Florida.
