Miami Edges Out LA in Battle for America's Most Instagrammable Streets
Forget the Hollywood sign and Rodeo Drive — when it comes to packing visual punch per foot of pavement, Miami has Los Angeles beat. A new study from CoinBets.com ranks the country's most share-worthy streets by hashtag density, and two Miami hotspots land in the top ten while LA's biggest names fall further down the list.
The research crunched the numbers on hashtagged posts for famous stretches of road, then divided that total by the street's length to get a "hashtags per meter" score. Topping the chart is New York's Broadway through Times Square, with a staggering 8,154 hashtags for every meter of its 650-meter span. Brooklyn's Washington Street in Dumbo came second, and San Francisco claimed third and fourth with Steiner Street's Painted Ladies and the zigzag of Lombard Street.
Miami's NW 2nd Avenue — home to the Wynwood Walls street art scene — took fifth place with 738 hashtags per meter, while Ocean Drive landed eighth at 500 per meter. By comparison, Hollywood Boulevard managed just 197 hashtags per meter, and Rodeo Drive hit 269. Ryan Beckett, the study's research lead, noted that Miami is the only city besides New York to place two streets in the top ten, each drawing on a different appeal: Wynwood's colorful murals and Ocean Drive's Art Deco glamour.
The methodology focused only on the sections of each street where tourists actually gather, ensuring that long residential stretches didn't dilute the numbers. So while LA's famous boulevards may still draw crowds, Miami's compact, camera-ready blocks are clearly winning the war for your feed.
