Mass Food Poisoning at Bodrum Resort: No Russian Tourists Among Victims, Consulate Confirms

A mass food poisoning incident at a five-star hotel in the Ortakent district of Bodrum, Turkey, sent 25 tourists to the hospital this week. The guests fell ill after dinner at the resort, reporting symptoms like nausea and vomiting. Local tourism outlet Turizm FM first reported the outbreak on Thursday.
The Russian Consulate General in Antalya confirmed to RIA Novosti that no Russian citizens were among those affected. In a statement, the consulate noted that all other victims received medical treatment and were discharged the same day they were admitted. The consulate said it had verified the information with local police.
Turkish authorities are investigating the cause of the contamination. The hotel has not yet issued a public statement. Bodrum, a popular destination on the Aegean coast, sees millions of tourists each summer, and incidents like this raise concerns about food safety standards in high-volume resorts. Officials urge travelers to report any health issues to their tour operators or embassies immediately.
