Lisbon Tops List for Russian Solo Travelers This Summer

Lisbon has emerged as the most popular European destination for Russian travelers flying solo this summer, according to new data from the travel service OneTwoTrip. The Portuguese capital saw solo bookings account for 71.9 percent of all hotel reservations, outpacing other major cities across the continent.
The study, shared with Lenta.ru, shows Lisbon comfortably ahead of second-place Ankara, Turkey, where solo bookings reached 63.9 percent. Munich, Germany, came in third at 58.8 percent, followed closely by Thessaloniki, Greece, at 58.6 percent. Rounding out the top ten were Warsaw (53.1 percent), Dubai (53 percent), Bishkek (51.1 percent), Hong Kong (50.3 percent), Almaty (50 percent), and Nur-Sultan (48.3 percent).
The findings come as more Russians seek independent travel experiences abroad. In a separate report, the service also highlighted the most affordable foreign cities for summer apartment rentals, with Batumi, Georgia, taking the top spot. For single tourists looking to explore Europe on their own terms, Lisbon’s blend of culture, coastline and walkable neighborhoods appears to be a winning combination.
