Kuban Resorts Brace for Near-Capacity Crowds This Summer

If you're planning a trip to Russia's Black Sea coast this July or August, you might want to book soon. According to Alexei Volkov, president of the national hospitality union, hotel occupancy across the Krasnodar region could hit 95% during peak season. Speaking to RIA Novosti, Volkov predicted that June would see more moderate numbers—around 50 to 60 percent—but come midsummer, rooms will be scarce.

Volkov noted that a hotel's ability to fill its rooms depends heavily on its amenities and overall appeal. The trend toward early booking is driving these numbers: in Anapa, advance reservations have jumped 25% compared to last year. That's no small leap. The expert also expects five-star hotels in Anapa to reach 80% occupancy this summer, while properties with direct beach access will run at about 50%.

Looking ahead, Volkov expressed optimism that Anapa will welcome a significantly larger number of visitors this year—perhaps 30% more than in 2024. For travelers, the message is clear: plan ahead, or risk being left on the sand.
