Krasnodar Tops Russia's Summer Travel Wish List, Data Shows

MOSCOW, April 8 – As summer approaches, Russian travelers are making their plans, and the southern region of Krasnodar is the clear favorite. According to data from the travel service Sletat.ru, Krasnodar accounts for 37% of all domestic summer bookings made through the platform.
A week-long trip for two in early June, including flights from Moscow and a stay at a three-star hotel with breakfast, starts around 54,200 rubles in Krasnodar. Opting for a four-star property raises the price to approximately 65,900 rubles.
The list of popular destinations reveals a diverse set of choices. Crimea follows in second place with 14.4% of sales. The top ten is rounded out by the Moscow and Kaliningrad regions, the Caucasus Mineral Waters area, Saint Petersburg, Dagestan, Tatarstan, Moscow city, and Karelia.
Prices vary significantly across the country. A similar week in the Caucasus Mineral Waters region begins at nearly 68,000 rubles, while a trip to Kaliningrad starts at 74,300 rubles for a three-star stay.
The average domestic trip this summer is booked for eight nights, with travelers planning nearly five months in advance. Preferences for mid-range accommodation remain steady: 42.2% are choosing three-star hotels and 27.3% are selecting four-star options, figures identical to last year. One shift in preference is clear—more tourists this year are opting for full-board meal plans at their hotels.
