Kamchatka Brings a Submarine Pavilion to the Eastern Economic Forum

Kamchatka is making a splash at this year’s Eastern Economic Forum with a pavilion shaped like a submarine, honoring 120 years of Russia’s submarine fleet and the region’s role in national security. The exhibit will sit along the Ajax Bay embankment in Vladivostok from September 1 through 4, offering visitors a walk through a recreated central command post, a look at reactor systems, and a glimpse into submariner life. The city of Vilyuchinsk takes center stage as the "City of Defenders of Peace."
Inside, four themed zones—"Apartment," "Campus," "Workshop," and "Dream Home"—showcase modern life in Kamchatka, from education and work to travel opportunities. Guests can pick up a "traveler’s passport" and learn about investment projects. One standout attraction is the "Earthquake-arium," a vibrating platform that simulates real quakes recorded in the region, built with input from local seismologists and engineers. Upstairs, an investment lounge highlights promising ventures and government support for businesses.
The cultural program features performances by Kamchatka ensembles, including "Rus," "Angt," and the "Sea of Volcanoes" project. Last year, the region’s pavilion won top honors in the "High Technology" category at the forum.
