Iranian National Team Arrives in Los Angeles Under Tight Security
The Iranian national soccer team has arrived in Los Angeles, just a day before their highly anticipated World Cup match against Belgium. The team's hotel in the Manhattan Beach area is being closely guarded by police, with restricted access to only hotel guests. Police vehicles are also stationed on nearby roads, blocking the main entrance to the hotel. According to a team assistant, the players arrived at around noon local time. The Iranian Football Federation had planned to file a complaint with the International Federation of Football (FIFA) due to the restrictions the team has faced during their preparations for the tournament. The team is not allowed to stay in the US outside of game days, meaning they must leave the country after each match. This restriction has already caused issues, with the team being forced to return to Mexico immediately after their previous match against New Zealand. The Iranian Football Federation believes these restrictions do not provide equal conditions for all teams and may affect their preparation. The match against Belgium is scheduled to take place on Sunday, with both teams looking to gain an advantage in Group G. The Iranian team will also face Egypt on June 26 in Seattle.
