Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Posts 27.4-Second 0–150–0 Run in 2026 Test

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N turned in a 27.4-second 0–150–0 mph time in Car and Driver's 2026 speed test, finishing well ahead of the Dodge Charger by nearly 10 seconds. The electric crossover, priced from $61,500 and $62,500 as tested, packs 641 horsepower and weighs 4,875 pounds, with Pirelli P Zero PZ4 Elect tires and 15.7-inch front and 14.2-inch rear vented disc brakes.

The test field in 2026 had a much larger share of hybrids and EVs compared to the 2023 running, when only one gas-free vehicle appeared. This time, more than half the lineup was electrified. The Ioniq 5 N, while not the fastest overall, is praised as a strong value when measuring dollars against lap or acceleration time.

Around the office, the Ioniq 5 N is a favorite thanks to its dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, plus playful features like simulated shift modes, rowdy sound effects, and multiple drift settings. For the quickest launch, testers recommend skipping shift simulation, using N drive mode with ESC Sport engaged, and holding both pedals before releasing for a slingshot-style start.

With N Launch Control active, all 641 horses go to the wheels, and unlike the front-drive Elantra N, the Ioniq 5 N hooks up without traction struggles, completing the entire run in 4,039 feet—less than halfway down the Oscoda runway. The only hiccup was an occasional warning about launch-control conditions not being met on back-to-back runs, which cleared after canceling and restarting the launch.
