How to channel Dua Lipa’s joy-fueled travel style this summer

Ask any young woman whose life she’d borrow, and Dua Lipa’s name comes up often. The singer is successful, politically sharp, and—judging by her social media—always somewhere new. She’s earned the nickname “Dua Lingo” for posting incredible meals, good wine, and smart books from different countries every week. Even she jokes about it: “An airport hates to see me coming.”

After a recent trip many fans guessed was a hen party, she used the term “funmaxxing”—internet slang for maximizing enjoyment. If anyone lives that idea, it’s Lipa. She doesn’t hide in private resorts; she dives into cities, finds local restaurants, and genuinely enjoys exploring. Most of us don’t have her resources, but we can borrow her approach.

Want to try it? Start with Southern Albania. Lipa is British-Albanian, and after performing at Sunny Hill festival in 2025, she posted sunset shots on the Albanian Riviera. Conde Nast Traveler called it one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. The coastline rivals Greece, with mountain hikes, beach parties, and underrated cuisine. Head to the Ionian coast for gems like Kep Merli peninsula near the Butrint UNESCO site, or Ksamil and Saranda for nightlife and water views.

Copenhagen is another favorite. Through her Service95 platform, Lipa recommended Sonny for breakfast and Popl for burgers. Last week she went viral for visiting spots regulars love: La Banchina, a 16-seat vegetarian wine bar by the water with a relaxed party vibe, and nearby Pompette for natural wine and Poulette for mapo tofu or spicy chicken sandwiches. She called it a “sunshine, food and art dosage.”

Ibiza is her “annual pilgrimage.” She loves sunrise yoga over the ocean, legendary clubs, hidden coves, and incredible restaurants. Her picks include Nudo beach cafe for natural wine and day trips to Formentera.

To truly funmaxx, bring flower hair accessories, lace two-pieces, outfits that match each destination, and a stack of books from her book club—like “Bad Feminist” by Roxane Gay or “Crying in H Mart” by Michelle Zauner. For 2026, pack “Son of Man,” “Night People,” “The Vanishing Half,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and “Box Hill.”
