High-End Getaways Get Cheaper: Maldives, Seychelles, and Indonesia See Price Drops

Good news for Russian travelers eyeing luxury destinations: some of the world’s most exclusive resorts are now more affordable. According to a new study by the tour booking service Onlinetours, shared with Lenta.ru, prices for the Maldives, Seychelles, and Indonesia have dropped significantly, making them accessible to a broader audience.
The Maldives saw the average trip cost fall by 12% since 2025, from 510,300 rubles to 450,500 rubles—and demand has tripled as a result. The Seychelles became even cheaper, with a 22% decline, bringing the average check down from 492,400 rubles to 384,200 rubles. Indonesia’s pricing held steady at around 297,700 rubles, but interest in the destination has surged multiple times over.
Meanwhile, the broader travel market tells a different story. For the first half of 2026, the average cost of international tours rose 7% to 196,600 rubles. Turkey, a perennial favorite, saw prices jump 14%—from 199,100 to 226,900 rubles. Despite these increases, Russian tourists set a new record for travel to the Seychelles earlier this year: between January 1 and May 24, 2026, 21,000 Russians visited the islands, the highest number ever recorded in that period.
