Four Countries to Make Debut at Moscow’s ‘Travel!’ Forum This June

Thailand, Sri Lanka, Belarus, and Nicaragua are set to make their first-ever appearance at the International Tourism Forum “Travel!” in Moscow this June. The event, running from June 10 to 14 at VDNKh, promises a fresh wave of international flavor for Russian travelers and industry professionals alike.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, this expanded international presence opens up new avenues for both inbound and outbound tourism, helping to forge stronger travel ties and business partnerships between nations. Each debutant country is bringing something unique to the table.

Thailand’s stand will feature a quiz-style lottery, a sports merchandise showcase, traditional Thai-style face painting, a photo booth with instant prints, tastings of Thai sweets, and even a fortune-telling session for good luck. Nicaragua is setting up an atmospheric photo zone where visitors can snap pictures with a model dressed in national costume.

Sri Lanka will host traditional tea ceremonies and offer one-on-one consultations about its tourism potential. Russian tourists can also look forward to discounts and special deals on Sri Lankan travel packages.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrusov noted that the forum serves as a major platform for international tourism dialogue. “We’ll hold working groups and bilateral meetings focused on visa liberalization, better transport links, and launching direct flights,” he said.

Vladimir Zatynayko, deputy director of the Roscongress Foundation and director of the forum, emphasized that the event lets visitors explore the culture, traditions, and travel opportunities of multiple countries in just a few days.

More than 30 countries—including China, Cuba, Venezuela, the UAE, and Vietnam—along with 75 Russian regions, are expected to participate.
