Four Airports Resume Normal Operations After Flight Restrictions Lifted

Travelers flying through Moscow’s Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports, along with those in Kostroma and Yaroslavl, can breathe easier. Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, announced Tuesday that temporary restrictions on aircraft takeoffs and landings at these four hubs have been fully removed. The measures, which were put in place to ensure flight safety during heightened security concerns, are no longer in effect.
The airports affected include Vnukovo and Domodedovo in the Moscow region, as well as Kostroma’s Sokerino Airport and Yaroslavl’s Tunoshna Airport. According to Rosaviatsia’s statement, the restrictions were lifted after authorities determined that conditions allowing safe operations had been restored. The agency did not specify the exact reason for the initial limitations, which are common during security alerts or adverse weather events.
For passengers, this means a return to regular schedules and fewer delays. Airlines operating out of these airports are expected to resume normal flight patterns, though travelers should still check with their carriers for any lingering adjustments. The swift lifting of the restrictions signals that the situation was closely monitored and resolved without major disruption to air travel across central Russia.
