Ford Shows Dealers a 4-Door Mustang That Echoes the Porsche Panamera

Ford recently met with dealers in Las Vegas and showed them an early prototype of a four-door Mustang, according to reports. Those present said the car’s size and design closely resemble the Porsche Panamera. The Mustang has been a two-door coupe since 1964, but this prototype hints at a major change, with production reportedly not starting until at least 2028.
Ford did not confirm a name for the vehicle, though earlier dealer meetings reportedly referred to it as the Mach 4, and a trademark for that term was filed in February 2025. Dealers were told the four-door Mustang would accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds, start at under $40,000, and offer more rear-seat space than the Panamera.
Separately, Ford briefed dealers on a small SUV with a starting price of $25,000, available in gas and hybrid versions, and slated to go on sale in 2029. Dealers saw mock-ups of a wide, boxy design, with one person comparing it to the first-generation Ford Escape. However, the SUV’s design has not been approved for production, and it has no official name or confirmed dimensions yet.
