FlyOne Armenia Sparks Fury Among Russian Travelers: ‘This Is Rock Bottom’

Russian passengers are venting their frustrations over low-cost carrier FlyOne Armenia, with some calling the airline “real bottom” after a chaotic check-in experience. The backlash erupted on Instagram following a post by user @leylas_tv, who described a nightmare at the airport. According to the post, passengers were hit with a surprise fee of 63,000 Armenian drams (about 12,000 rubles) just to check in at the counter. The airline allows free online check-in up to a week before departure, but many travelers only learned of this policy upon arrival at the terminal. This lack of communication led to long lines at the payment desk, ultimately delaying the flight. Comments quickly split between blame and disbelief. “Don’t buy tickets there!” one user warned. Another countered, “You can pay for check-in online for pennies. It’s shocking people can’t read the terms.” Others were less forgiving: “FlyOne is real rock bottom” and “The worst airline.” This incident follows a prior report of a Russian traveler losing her remaining vacation funds just before a FlyOne flight due to a similar policy surprise. For budget-conscious travelers, the lesson is clear: read the fine print—or expect to pay the price at the gate.
