Flight Operations Resume Normally at Key Southern Russian Airports

RIA NovostiSaturday, February 7, 2026

Travelers heading to Russia's Black Sea coast received good news this morning. The Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsiya, announced it has lifted temporary operational restrictions at Gelendzhik and Krasnodar airports. The limits, which had been placed on the arrival and departure of aircraft, are now fully rescinded.

Authorities stated the measures were originally implemented as a standard, precautionary step to guarantee flight safety. No specific incident was cited as the cause for the initial restrictions. With their removal, both airports are expected to return to their regular schedules without further disruption.

The timing is favorable for the region's tourism sector. Gelendzhik, a popular seaside resort, and Krasnodar, a major transport hub for the south, are key gateways for visitors. The restoration of normal air service provides clarity for airlines and passengers planning trips to the area this season. Airport officials have confirmed that operations are continuing under standard procedures following the regulatory update.
