Five-Star Hotel Stays in Russia Get Cheaper This Autumn

Luxury five-star hotels in Russia have become more affordable for domestic travelers this autumn, according to a study by the travel service OneTwoTrip. The average nightly rate dropped by 5.2 percent, landing at 21,800 rubles, compared to 23,000 rubles a year earlier.
The research also found that the number of upscale hotels in the country has grown. Domestic destinations now account for 34 percent of all five-star bookings this season.
The most budget-friendly luxury stays are in central Russia, the Volga region, and southern republics. Bryansk Oblast offers the lowest rates at 5,900 rubles per night, followed by Karachay-Cherkessia at 6,000 rubles, Volgograd Oblast at 8,000 rubles, Astrakhan Oblast at 8,500 rubles, and Sverdlovsk Oblast at 11,600 rubles.
Premium accommodation has also become more accessible in Smolensk and Samara oblasts, as well as in Bashkortostan, North Ossetia, and the Altai Republic.
Earlier reports revealed that Russians are looking to save on travel during the velvet season, planning longer but cheaper vacations.
