Final Flights: Russian Airlines Evacuate Citizens from UAE Amid Regional Turmoil

MOSCOW, March 11 – Russian airlines are operating their final evacuation flights from the United Arab Emirates today, marking a temporary halt to scheduled services as regional instability escalates. According to statements from Aeroflot and S7 Airlines, further flights will be suspended until the security situation improves.
Aeroflot confirmed two flights from Dubai to Moscow, scheduled for 13:10 and 15:40 local time. S7 will operate a single flight from Dubai to Novosibirsk, departing at 15:15 local time. These are the last officially scheduled passenger services for the foreseeable future.
The air bridge closure follows decisions by other carriers. Pobeda has cancelled all flights to and from the UAE from March 9 through March 29. Utair halted its UAE operations when regional restrictions were first imposed, and Ural Airlines operated its last flight from Ras Al Khaimah to Sochi during the night of March 5-6.
The suspensions are a direct consequence of military actions that began on February 28, involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Cross-border strikes have led to civilian casualties and significant damage, prompting several Middle Eastern nations, including UAE neighbors, to fully or partially close their airspace. The closures have severely disrupted commercial air travel across the region, stranding travelers and forcing airlines to scramble for solutions.
