Egypt's Tourism Soars: 19 Million Visitors in 2025

Egypt's tourism sector has reached a new high. Official figures released by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities show the country welcomed a record 19 million visitors in 2025. This represents a significant 21% increase compared to the previous year, underscoring a powerful and sustained recovery for the North African destination.

The ministry noted that flights connected Egypt to 193 cities globally last year, providing the necessary infrastructure for the influx. A substantial portion of those arrivals came from Russia. Minister Sherif Fathi previously stated that approximately 2 million Russian tourists visited in 2025, making them the largest single group of international visitors.

Buoyed by this success, Egyptian authorities have set an ambitious target. The national strategy now aims to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2030. This latest data suggests the country is on a strong trajectory to meet that long-term goal, as global travelers continue to return to its historic sites and resort coasts.
