Dubai Hotels Roll Out Citywide Digital Check-In

@rata_ruSaturday, January 10, 2026

Dubai is introducing a unified digital check-in system across its hotels and serviced apartments, aiming to let visitors bypass the front desk. The initiative, powered by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism's platform, allows travelers to submit their details via a hotel's own website or app before arrival.

Guests provide standard information required for any check-in, such as passport details and a photo for identification. The specific fields are set by each participating property. For returning visitors who have used the system before, the process is even faster: their information is stored until their travel document expires, and subsequent trips may require only a quick biometric verification.

Officials emphasize that the digital option is an addition to, not a replacement for, traditional check-in methods. It also does not alter existing immigration procedures; all standard rules for registering foreign guests remain in place. The move is part of a broader push to streamline the tourist experience in the emirate, reducing paperwork and wait times upon arrival.
