Designer Paula Flynn's New Book Celebrates the World's Most Beautiful Shops

Designer Paula Flynn has spent ten years documenting distinctive brick-and-mortar stores through her website, The Shopkeepers. That work has now led to a book, The World's Most Beautiful Shops, which highlights retail experiences around the globe.
Flynn tells Condé Nast Traveler that each featured shop has created a special moment that reflects its location and heritage. She describes the book as a tribute to the art of shopkeeping in all its forms, noting that these shops are shaped by where they are rather than copying what exists elsewhere.
The featured stores range from a 237-year-old candle shop in Lisbon to a townhouse-turned-textiles-museum in Istanbul. Flynn acknowledges that shops can close or evolve, but believes their legacies endure and that people can always look to them for inspiration.
