Crimean Bridge Bottleneck: Thousands of Cars Wait in Line for Hours

A massive traffic jam has formed in front of the Crimean Bridge, with thousands of cars waiting to cross from Kerch. According to the latest update on the bridge's operational status, posted on Friday, June 26, the queue for manual inspection on the Kerch side has swelled to 2,450 vehicles. In contrast, there are no reported wait times on the Taman side. Drivers waiting to cross from Kerch can expect a wait of over five hours. This news comes on the heels of an announcement that the number of daily trains to and from Crimea will be reduced to just seven. To mitigate the disruption, trains will run to and from Kerch South station, with buses taking over from there, following a special schedule. The reduced train service and massive traffic jam are likely to cause significant delays for travelers heading to or from the peninsula.
