Crimea Train Services Disrupted as Dzhankoy Station Temporarily Closes

Passengers traveling on the ‘Tavria’ train services from Crimea to mainland Russia are facing delays of up to three hours today, following the sudden closure of Dzhankoy station for boarding and alighting. The operator confirmed that all three passenger trains passing through the region will skip the stop entirely on May 23.

Travelers whose journey ends in Dzhankoy will now ride to the nearby Urzhaynaya station, where shuttle buses will take them the rest of the way. Those who planned to board a train at Dzhankoy must instead catch a bus to Urzhaynaya to meet their train there. The company urged passengers to pay close attention to station announcements, as the usual carriage numbering may be changed.

“If you need assistance in your carriage, please speak to the train manager or the conductors,” a spokesperson for the state railway operator added. “The expected delay may still change, and train managers will update passengers on arrival times as new information comes in.”

The disruption has caught many commuters off guard, though officials have not given a reason for the sudden closure. While the situation appears temporary, travelers are advised to allow extra time for connections and to check for updates before heading to the station.
