Could Dua Lipa and Callum Turner Say 'I Do' in Palermo? Locals Are Buzzing

Last July, Dua Lipa posted a series of sun-drenched Instagram photos from Palermo, Sicily, where she vacationed with her fiancé, British actor Callum Turner. The couple, who got engaged weeks earlier, looked smitten as they wandered baroque alleyways, admired cathedral frescoes, and took sunset boat rides. One shot even captured Turner grinning while holding a pair of ricotta cannoli. Another showed the word “amore” scrawled on a wall.
Now, whispers are swirling that the pop star and the actor—often tipped as a future James Bond—might tie the knot in Palermo this June. And no one seems more thrilled than Alessandro Minnone, owner of Colletti, a bar where Lipa once posed with a Campari soda. “I was honored to welcome her,” Minnone told the Guardian. “When I heard the news of her possible wedding here, it was wonderful. As a Palermitano, I feel proud that an international star would choose to return—and even get married here.”
Speculation kicked into high gear after the local paper Giornale di Sicilia reported that a wedding planner had been hired and an entire floor of suites reserved at Villa Igiea, a five-star art nouveau hotel. A source at the hotel confirmed rooms were booked for June, but said the ceremony itself won’t be held there. Neither Lipa’s spokesperson nor the rumored planner, Alessandra Grillo—who organized influencer Chiara Ferragni’s 2018 Sicilian wedding—have commented.
If the wedding happens, it could be the summer’s biggest event in Italy, rivaling last year’s star-studded Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sánchez bash in Venice. Italian media have already dubbed it the “wedding of the year.” Possible venues include the courtyard of Palermo’s modern art gallery, GAM, or the recently restored church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo. Locals are buzzing. “I can already imagine her in a white dress walking through the streets,” said 13-year-old Iole. “How could we not feel honored?”
