Constant Complaining Tops List of Travel Partner 'Red Flags' for Russians

Constant complaining is the most off-putting habit a travel companion can have, according to a study by the dating service Teamo and cruise operator Vodokhod, cited by Lenta.ru. More than 81 percent of respondents named it their top "red flag."

Sloppiness came second, disliked by over half of those surveyed, followed by chronic lateness at 40.7 percent. Sudden changes of plan annoyed 34 percent, while 32 percent cited disrespect for personal space.

An overly emotional partner was a problem for a quarter of respondents, and 20 percent disliked a companion who shows no initiative. Women reacted more sharply to excessive penny-pinching on trips and to invasions of personal space, while men were more often irritated by constant plan changes and lateness.

On money, 36.9 percent said the man should cover vacation expenses, 23.4 percent favored splitting costs evenly, 20.4 percent said each should pay their own way, and only 16.6 percent suggested dividing costs in proportion to income.
