China Extends Visa-Free Travel for Russians Through 2027

China has extended its visa-free entry policy for Russian citizens until the end of 2027, according to an announcement on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website. The move allows Russians to enter and stay in China for up to 30 days using only a valid foreign passport, no visa required. This marks a significant easing of travel restrictions between the two nations.
The extension comes as part of a reciprocal arrangement. Earlier, Russia extended its own visa-free regime for Chinese citizens through December 31, 2027. Previously, that temporary policy was set to expire on September 14, 2026. Both countries have clearly signaled a desire to boost tourism and business travel in the post-pandemic era.
For travelers, this means simpler planning: a passport and a ticket are all that’s needed for short stays. The policy covers tourism, family visits, and business trips. As winter holidays approach, industry watchers expect a surge in bookings. The streamlined process also eases logistics for tour operators and corporate travelers alike, making spontaneous cross-border trips far more feasible.
