Buried Scooter Adds Twist to Search for Missing Russian Siblings in Thailand

In a disturbing development, the moped belonging to a Russian brother and sister who disappeared in Thailand last month has been found—disassembled and buried underground. Diana, 22, and Roman, 17, were reported missing on July 26. The damaged scooter was unearthed and identified by its license plate, according to Russian Telegram channel Shot.

The siblings were last seen on that same bike before they vanished. They had confided to their mother that they feared someone was tracking them through their phones. The family had been living in the Bristol Park area of Pattaya, a coastal city popular with Russian expats and tourists.

Thai police, along with volunteer search teams, have been combing the region for any trace of the pair. The discovery of the buried moped has shifted the investigation's focus—authorities now suspect the disappearance may involve more than just a simple missing persons case. The siblings' mother remains in Pattaya, waiting for news.

The incident has drawn attention to the safety of tourists in Thailand, particularly those from Russia who have flocked to the country since the war in Ukraine. For now, the search continues, with investigators urging anyone with information to come forward.
