Beat the Heat with Indoor Pickleball in Palm Beach County

As the summer sun continues to scorch, pickleball enthusiasts in Palm Beach County can find relief in the county's air-conditioned recreation centers. The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department has launched a program offering indoor pickleball games at three locations: West Boynton, Westgate, and West Jupiter recreation centers. Each facility boasts three courts, and players can enjoy a cool and dry environment, free from the worries of heat exhaustion or rainouts. The indoor courts utilize portable nets and lines, and players are required to use a first-come, first-served rotation system when courts are full. For a nominal fee of $5, players can enjoy a fun and safe experience, reaping the benefits of regular physical activity, including improved mental health, social connections, and cognitive function. The indoor pickleball program is available on Saturdays and Sundays at various times, and players under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Those preferring outdoor games can still access dedicated pickleball courts at several parks, including Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park and Okeeheelee Park. With this innovative program, pickleball enthusiasts can stay active, social, and cool throughout the sweltering summer months.
