Beach Safety 101: Doctor Reveals Must-Have Items for a Beach First Aid Kit

As Russians prepare for their summer vacations, a therapist has shared her expert advice on what to include in a beach first aid kit. In an interview with Life.ru, Dr. Nadezhda Chernysheva emphasized the importance of being prepared for any minor accidents or ailments that may occur during a day at the beach. She recommended packing essentials like sunscreen with a high SPF, aftersun lotion or other treatments for sunburn, and insect bite creams. It's also a good idea to bring along band-aids, sterile bandages, and antiseptics, as cuts and scrapes can happen easily. Dr. Chernysheva advised against using certain products, such as iodine and brilliant green, as they can distort the color of a wound and cause further irritation. Additionally, she suggested including medications like pain relievers, antihistamines, and anti-allergy drugs, as well as rehydration salts and anti-diarrheal medication. For those with chronic conditions, it's essential to remember to pack any prescribed medications. With these items in your beach first aid kit, you'll be well-equipped to handle any minor mishaps and focus on enjoying your time in the sun.
