Around 100 Tourists Stranded Near Kamchatka Volcano After River Washout

Around a hundred tourists are stuck at the foot of the Plosky Tolbachik volcano in Kamchatka after the Studenaya River overflowed and washed away the only road, according to the SHOT Telegram channel.
One tourist, Tatyana Dolivets from Azerbaijan, said her group of 16 reached the Kleshnya cordon in a high-clearance Ural vehicle, but the river burst its banks, leaving the 30-kilometer return route completely destroyed. Besides them, about 100 others are trapped, including citizens of Russia, China, Belarus, and Israel. The woman said only one day's worth of food remains.
The situation is made worse by a narrowed, tree-blocked passage near the volcano and almost no phone signal. Some hikers are wet and at risk of hypothermia, while the ranger's cabin cannot fit everyone. Relatives have appealed to the Emergencies Ministry, the prosecutor's office, and the governor for help, asking for food and warm clothing. Rescuers say a helicopter can only be sent if there is a direct threat to life and an urgent medical need.
Separately, it was previously reported that a wall of the Klyuchevskoy volcano collapsed, sending fragments into the Apakhonchichsky trench and triggering hours of pyroclastic falls from its sides.
