Angelenos Get First Shot at 2028 Olympic Tickets Through New Lottery

Los Angeles residents will get the first opportunity to secure seats for the 2028 Olympic Games through a new ticket lottery announced today. The initial phase, dubbed the 'LA Priority Draw,' is designed to give locals a fair shot at attending events before sales open to the wider public.
Successful applicants will be selected at random and notified by email in April. They will then receive a designated window to purchase tickets directly. Organizers have confirmed that a limited number of tickets will be priced at $28, a nod to the year of the Games, though most will cost significantly more.
This approach aims to manage overwhelming demand and prevent a chaotic rush when sales begin. It also prioritizes the city hosting the event, a move officials hope will build local enthusiasm and ensure full stadiums. 'We want the people of Los Angeles in those seats,' a spokesperson for LA28 said. 'This is their moment, and this draw is the starting line.'
Additional ticket opportunities for the general public, including packages and single-event sales, are expected to be announced later this year. For now, the focus is on the city's residents, who can soon enter a draw that could place them at the heart of the world's biggest sporting event.
