Airstream Slashes Entry Price with New $64,400 World Traveler 17RB

Airstream is making its iconic silver bullet more accessible than ever. The company just unveiled the World Traveler 17RB, a compact 17-foot travel trailer that starts at $64,400. That price undercuts the previous entry-level Bambi model by a full $4,500, opening the door for a broader range of buyers to join the Airstream community.
Weight was the big priority here. The 17RB tips the scales at just 3,150 pounds, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 3,500 pounds. That means it can be towed by smaller vehicles like the Ford Maverick pickup or a Toyota RAV4, which is a game-changer for folks who don't own a heavy-duty truck. To shed pounds, Airstream swapped its signature wrap-around windows for smaller acrylic rectangles, and the cabin is intentionally minimalistic. A fixed full-size mattress sits in the back—tight for two larger adults—while the front dinette folds into a second bed when needed.
The kitchenette comes with an expandable countertop and a two-burner gas stove, plus a standard 2.1-cubic-foot fridge (upgradeable to a drawer-style unit). Other niceties include ducted air conditioning, a 24-inch flat-screen TV, and an on-board water heater. Options like a microwave, backup camera, and rooftop solar panel are available for extra cost. Production is already underway, with first deliveries expected later this year. Airstream also plans to bring the 17RB to international markets, though that rollout won't start until fall 2026.
