Air Cairo Flight Finally Departs Moscow for Hurghada After More Than Two Days of Delays

An Air Cairo flight from Moscow to Hurghada took off on 18 October at 15:43 Moscow time, ending a delay that stretched beyond two days, Sheremetyevo Airport reported.

According to the airport's online departures board, flight SM788 had been scheduled to leave Moscow at 01:45 on 16 October, but its departure was postponed repeatedly. The total delay came to more than 48 hours.

Passengers waiting for the flight were given hotel accommodation, meals and other support measures in line with Russian federal aviation regulations, the airport's press service said.

Lenta.RU reported that the departure had first been held up on 16 October because of a drone hazard, and that on 18 October passengers were asked to leave the aircraft and wait in the terminal.
