Aeroflot Brings Ticket Sales to Russia’s MAX Platform

Russia’s flagship carrier, Aeroflot, has rolled out a new way for passengers to buy tickets and book flights through the national digital platform MAX. The service, announced by MAX’s press office on July 13, initially covers routes between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Travelers can now use a chatbot within the MAX messenger to purchase tickets, add extra baggage, reserve space for a pet, or rebook an existing ticket.
The move follows a strategic partnership agreement signed in June 2025 between Aeroflot and VK, the tech company behind MAX, to develop and promote digital products together. MAX itself launched in March 2025 and is already registered in Russia’s official software directory. The platform offers messaging, voice calls, payment services, access to electronic government services, and digital identity verification through a built-in ID system.
Looking ahead, Russian Railways (RZD) told RIA Novosti earlier this month that they plan to start selling commuter train tickets via MAX in 2026. For now, Aeroflot’s chatbot is the first major airline integration on the platform, signaling a broader push to centralize travel booking within Russia’s homegrown digital ecosystem.
